I have the same joystick and I found that it was rolling to one side when i wasn't touching the joystick.
That some people may have some success isn't the same as the game being designed with the joystick in mind as several people are complaining about the same or similar issues. It seems that the game just doesn't properly support joysticks the way it should. In addition, I've read in another thread not to touch the joystick while it's loading.and I haven't.
